LYNNFIELD - Zena S. (Costello) Kasilowski, 96, a longtime resident of Lynnfield died Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Hannah Duston Healthcare Center in Haverhill. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter F. Kasilowski.
She was born in Lowell on September 19, 1920, and was a daughter of the late Leo and Sophie (Kosztyla) Costello. She recieved her education in Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School, where she was a Girl Officer and a member of the Honor Society. She then went on to The Katharine Gibbs School where she studied nutrition.
Zena took great pride in tending to the needs of her home and family. Later in life she was employed for many years by the Lynnfield school system and then by Transitron in Wakefield.
She loved music and enjoyed attending concerts and dancing, especially ballroom and square dancing with her husband and they were members of the Friendly Squares.
Zena also enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and knitting.
She was a former communicant of Holy Trinity Parish in Lowell.
Zena is survived by her two daughters, Gail J. Marino and of York, ME and Patricia L. Rosa of Lynnfield; five grandchildren, John "Jack" Rosa and his wife Elizabeth, Richard Rosa, Kimberlee Ferrara and her husband Barry, Mark Marino, and John Marino; seven great grandchildren, Nicholas, Michael, Jacob, Paul, Madison, Zoe, and Julia; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother-in-law of the late John Marino and sister of the late Evelyn Bedell.
