Yvette R. (Germain) Sweeney

DRACUT, MA – Yvette R. (Germain) Sweeney, 84, a resident of Dracut, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at a local nursing home.
Born in Lowell, MA on November 17, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Jean Michael Lorenzo Germain and Aurea L. (Godin) Germain.
Mrs. Sweeney had been employed as a stitcher by the Lowell Dress Company for many years. She went on to work for Wang Laboratories from which she retired. Following her retirement she worked for Custom Drapery of N. Chelmsford.
Yvette was a volunteer at the Dracut Council on Aging and received the 2011 Volunteer of the Year Award, which was awarded at the Massachusetts House of Representatives by State Rep. Colleen Garry.
She was a member of Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish in Dracut.
She is survived by three sons; Michael Sweeney and his wife Deborah (Lavigne) of Dracut, MA, Richard A. Sweeney and his life partner Vidal Arroyave of Billerica, MA, David F. Sweeney and his wife Ligaya "Lily" (Nacpil) of Auburn, NH; two daughters, Paula J. Cicchetti and her husband Arnold of Merrimack, NH and Doreen A. (Sweeney) Burk of Dracut, MA, five grandchildren; Emily (Demers) Lyon and her husband Channing of Kittery, ME, Caitlin Demers of Nashua, NH, Chad M. Sweeney and his wife Courtney of Billerica, MA, John J. Fitzpatrick, Jr. and Jacob A. Cetaruk, both of Dracut, MA; a great grandson, Cainon J. Lyon of Kittery, ME; also several nieces and nephews. She leaves a dear friend, Pauline Dufresne of Lowell, MA. She was also the sister of the late Noella Murphy, Lillian Houle, Leopold Germain, Gerard Germain, Yolande Dame and Pauline Gauthier.
