William C. MacLean

LOWELL - William C. MacLean, 76, a resident of the Christian Hill neighborhood in the Centralville section of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, January 29, 2010, in a local nursing home. He was the beloved husband of the late Frances E. (Burnell) MacLean.
Born in Lowell on April 20, 1933, he was a son of the late Clarence H. and Alice R. (Finnegan) MacLean.
Mr. MacLean was a graduate of Lowell High School, Class of 1950. He enlisted with the United States Army and served during the Korean War from 1953 until 1956.
Mr. MacLean had been employed for over 30 years by the Reichold Chemical Company of Ballard Vale, MA, his last position as a chemical supervisor.
He was a communicant of St. Michael Church.
An avid horseracing enthusiast, Mr. MacLean enjoyed his Saturdays at Rockingham Park in Salem, NH.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary C. Fitts and her husband Robert of Lowell; a brother, Harold MacLean of Portsmouth, NH; three grandchildren, William, Bobby and Megan Fitts, all of Lowell; a niece, Camille Brady and her husband Matthew of Kittery Point, ME; very dear friends, John and Jane Pappas of Lowell. He was the step father of Alfred B. Robillard of Exeter
