William J. Bill Cronin

Lowell - William J. "Bill" Cronin, Jr., 69, of Lowell, passed away at home on Saturday November 13, 2010 with his loving wife and children by his side. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Lester) Cronin to whom he has been married to for 44 years.
He was born in Lowell on December 28, 1940, a son of the late William J. and Jenny B. (Greenwood) Cronin.
Bill received his early education at St. Michael School and graduated from Lowell High School in 1959.
Bill was a proud member of the Lowell Fire Department for 34 years until his retirement in 1997.
He enjoyed fishing and boating at his home on Lake Winnipesaukee surrounded by his family. He loved to travel and was a "jack of all trades".
Bill was a lifelong member of St. Michael Parish.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by two daughters and two sons, Kathleen Swanson and her late husband Brian of Westboro, Kristine Morrison and her husband Wayne of Lowell, Daniel Cronin and his wife Christina (Poitras) of Andover, William Cronin and his wife Carrie (Harrison) of Lowell; three brothers and a sister, Anthony Cronin and his wife Simone of Tewksbury, Frederick Cronin and his wife Lorraine of Chelmsford, Richard Cronin and his wife Elaine of Meredith, NH and Margaret Collins and her husband William of Concord, NH.
Bill is also survived by seven grandchildren who gave him great joy; Meredith Swanson, Emma and Eric Morrison, Daniel and Cailin Cronin, Jack and Molly Cronin; also several nieces and nephews. He was also the son in law of the late Agnes V. (Larson) Lester, and brother in law of the late Jacqueline A. "Lyn" Lester.
