Beloved Brother
DRACUT – Walter J. Larose, 89, a Dracut resident, passed away peacefully at the High Pointe House in Haverhill, MA on Friday, January 15, 2021.
He was born on December 10, 1931 in Dracut, MA and was the son of the late Alphonse and Alvina (Parie) Larose.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
He worked for the University of Massachusetts Lowell for 24 years as a Campus Police Officer where he received many awards.
He especially loved children. He coached Little League baseball for many years. He was known to many as "Uncle Wally Baby" and "Pepere Walter."
Among his many interests, he enjoyed bowling, being a collector at Ste. Marguerite d'Youville Parish, and working on projects around his house. Most of all, he enjoyed caring for his sisters and going out to breakfast with them.
He is survived and will be deeply missed by his sister, Irene Larose, as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. He is predeceased by his sister, Doris M. Larose, who passed away in March of 2020, as well as 15 other brothers and sisters.
LAROSE - It being his request, there will be no calling hours. Due to the current pandemic, Funeral Services were held privately for his immediate family. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date for family and friends when it is safe to gather.
