Walter S. "Casey" Kycia

Dracut – Dracut - Walter S. "Casey" Kycia, a Dracut resident, beloved husband of Helen (Lynch) Kycia, with whom he celebrated 66 years of marriage, died Friday January 7, 2011 following a brief illness. He recently celebrated his 90th birthday.
Born in New Haven, CT on November 2, 1920 he was a son of the late Stanley and Mary (Katulska) Kycia.
He served in the US Navy during WWII as a gunner.
Casey worked for many years as a printer then foreman for the Sullivan Bros. Printing in Lowell.
He was a communicant of St Michael Parish where he also served in the Holy Name Society.
Casey was an avid sportsman whose passion was golf and he played at Green Meadow Country Club whenever he had the chance. He taught his daughter Karen to play in order to have more opportunities to be on the course. Casey also enjoyed deep sea fishing.
Casey also had an enthusiasm for flying. He would fly anytime his friend Bill landed at the Nashua Airport.
In earlier years he bowled at the former Wamesit Lanes in Tewksbury and played in several hockey and baseball leagues.
Surviving him besides his wife are a daughter Karen Kycia of Dracut; and dear friends Kathy and Bill Kring and their son Billy all of Charlton.
