Pelham, NH - Walter D. Kilbride, a resident of Pelham, NH and the beloved husband of the late Priscilla C. (Jean) Kilbride, passed away on April 12, 2016, at the Lowell General Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was 89.
Walter was born in Lowell on January 2, 1927, a son of the late William and Mary (O'Neil) Kilbride.
He was educated in Lowell and was a WWII Army Veteran.
In 1962 Walter joined the Lowell Fire Department. He retired as a Lieutenant on Engine 5 at the former Fourth Street Fire Station following 26 years of service.
Walter was a very loving, compassionate and generous person. He will be deeply missed.
Walter got great enjoyment feeding and watching the birds.
Walter was passionate about politics and enjoyed following local and national politics. He was a history buff and enjoyed conversations about all subjects.
Walter cherished his visits to Cape Cod, the Catskills, and especially Ireland. He always liked a good card game and watching baseball and football.
The time Walter spent with his family was very important to him. He especially enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his four children and spouses, David Kilbride, Michael and Linda Kilbride, all of Pelham, NH, Thomas and Brenda Kilbride of Townsend, MA, Susan and Alan Serrentino of Pelham, NH; six grandchildren, Katherine Barbin, Michael Kilbride, Patrick Kilbride, Liam Kilbride, Jillian Serrentino, Nathan Serrentino; two great grandchildren, Harrison Kilbride, Bennett Barbin; a sister Anne Henderson of Nashua, NH; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Pat Kilbride, Kay Kane, and Jake Kilbride.
