Lowell - Virginia A. Cheetham, 87, a resident of the Christian Hill neighborhood in the Centralville section of Lowell, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017, at a local health care facility.
Born in Lowell on July 27, 1929, she was a daughter of the late George and Helen (Sullivan) Cheetham.
A lifelong communicant of St. Michael Church, Virginia was a member of the Legion of Mary and the League of Catholic Women.
She was a graduate of St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing and Boston College, receiving a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. She was a member of the Boston College Alumnae Association.
Miss Cheetham worked as a Registered Nurse for the V.A. Hospital in both Bedford and Jamaica Plain. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
A world traveller, she visited every continent with the exception of Antarctica.
Virginia leaves a sister, Mary E. Kane of Tewksbury; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews. She was a sister of the late Helen F. Saba.
