Virgina A. (Porter) Larkham

November 18, 1920 — October 22, 2014

Virginia A. (Porter) Larkham, 93, a long time resident of the Christian Hill neighborhood in the Centralville section of Lowell, died Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at her daughter's residence in Westford with her loving family by her side. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Raymond F. Larkham, who passed on December 23, 2013 and with whom she shared 75 years of marriage.
Born in Worcester on November 18, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Herbert A. and Julia K. (Collins) Porter.
Virginia attended Grafton Schools and was a graduate of Grafton High School.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the former St. Joseph's Hospital in the medical records department.
Mrs. Larkham was a longtime communicant and volunteer at St. Michael Parish in Lowell.
She enjoyed cooking and gardening, but her special enjoyment came from spending time with her family.
The Larkham family would like to thank the Lowell VNA-Hospice for their compassionate care during their mother's time of illness. They would also like to thank Dr. David Pickul and his staff for their ongoing care and concern.
Virginia is survived by six children and their spouses, Virginia and William Brown of Plattsburg, NY, Diane and Robert Doyle of Westford, Peter and Suzanne Larkham of NH, Francesca and Richard Graves of Winchendon, Christine and Thomas Mirabito of NH, Paul and Deborah Larkham of Westford; three brothers-in-law, Herbert Larkham of North Grafton, John Larkham of East Brookfield and George Smalanskas of Shrewsbury; a sister-in-law, Marguerite Hoey of Auburn; many grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late Philip Larkham.
