Viravuth Ly, passed away on Tuesday April 7, 2009 at the age of forty-one, after a battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family. Vuth was an only child and never knew his parents, but few can claim a family as large as his. All who knew him loved him dearly -- his in-laws including parents; ten brothers and sisters; countless nieces and nephews; cousins; friends; neighbors; monks and elders at the temple just to name a few. I love him like my own my flesh and blood brother. He is like a son to me. He helped me to grow from a little brat into a woman are just a few things said about him.
Always cheerful, honest, gentle, patient, and nurturing, Vuth touched the lives of many, but he will be remembered most as an amazingly loving husband to his wife of nineteen years, Sokun Ly. I used to get this very bothersome sensation in my feet at night. Vuth would soak a towel in cold water and wrap it around my feet. And he would wake up several times in the middle of the night to change it so that I could sleep. And he did this every night until it went away. We never argued, not once. He never gave me cause for tears said his beloved wife.
Viravuth was employed by the Anika Therapeutics Company of Woburn.
He is survived by his wife Sokun and aunt Neou Hoc. He will be dearly missed.
