Violet A. (Lachapelle) Plourde

DRACUT - Violet A. (Lachapelle) Plourde, 88, a longtime resident of Dracut died Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016 at D'Youville Senior Care in Lowell.  She was the wife of the late Maurice A. "Moe" Plourde, who died in 1997.

She was born in Lowell on July 28, 1927, and was a daughter of the late Joseph O, and Ozine (Jette) Lachapelle. 

Prior to her retirement, Violet was employed for many years as a bookkeeper for Dracut Tire Shop.

She was an avid bingo player and had bowled for many years with the "Early Birds".   She also enjoyed playing cards and sewing.  

Violet was a communicant of Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish in Dracut and was a member of the Dracut Senior Citizens Club and the Centralville Senior Citizens Club.  

She is survived by her son, William "Bill" Plourde and his wife Elaine of Dracut, a daughter, Gail Pratt and her husband Michael of Dracut; her son-in-law, David Paquette of Dracut, seven grandchildren, Kenneth Paquette of Dracut, Melanie Nangle of Dracut, Becky Plourde and her fiancee Pete Hudson of Tyngsboro, Randy Paquette of Pelham, NH, Jennifer Landry and her husband Pete of Dracut, Stephanie Day and her husband Patrick of Dracut, and Kristen Pratt of Dracut; 4 great grandchildren, Cameron, Owen, Parker, and Lincoln; a sister, Pauline Piche' of Nashua, NH; and many nieces and nephews.  She was also the mother of the late Diane Paquette who died in 2012 and the sister of the late Roland Lachapelle, George Lachapelle, Nell Clermont, Estelle Maloney, and Claire Hebert.
