Viola B. (Maguire) Leonard

Viola B. (Maguire) Leonard, 93, a longtime Dracut and Lowell resident, died peacefully on Saturday January 18, 2014 at D'Youville Senior Care.
Born in Canada on January 22, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Bessie (Mowatt) Maguire.
For many years, Viola was employed as a bank teller at Winchester Savings Bank in Winchester MA. She also worked as a seamstress and at Lowell General Hospital in their housekeeping department.
Her interests included spending time with her pets and gardening. She was also a loyal patron at George's counter which was located inside Market Basket on Bridge Street for many years
Viola will be remembered as a lady of determined spirit and a lover of all animals. Her vibrant nature endeared her to all those who knew her. Her temperament and personality gave her unforgettable character.
Survivors include two granddaughters, who lovingly took care of their "Nonny," Amy Berger and her husband Brian of Dracut, Stacey Guertin and her fiancé Ronald Claris of Pelham ,NH. She also leaves behind three great-grand children Jake Berger, Sally Berger and Adam Berger, all of Dracut MA. In addition she leaves a son, Donald King of NYC and granddaughter Nanami (King) Grevemberg of Scotland; her brother Henry James and his wife, Leona of Harvey Station, New Brunswick, Canada along with many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Marjorie Guertin who predeceased her in 1993.
