Vera (Myron) Larrivee

March 29, 1916 — January 4, 2015

Vera (Myron) Larrivee, a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, the beloved wife of the late William A. Larrivee, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015 following a fourteen year battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was ninety-eight.

Born in Lowell on March 29, 1916, Vera was a daughter of the late John and Ellen (Cowhig) Myron. She was a lifelong Lowell resident.

Vera was educated in Lowell and was a graduate of Lowell High School Class of 1933, where she received the Carney Medal. She was the salutatorian of the largest graduation class of that time.
Vera's salutatory speech was on The Value of Persistency. She spoke of the persistency of Christopher Columbus, Pilgrims, American Colonists, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the working class, and lastly her graduating class and their success if they persist.

Vera's speech would follow her through her life. She was hardworking and worked tirelessly for veterans at her job for the City of Lowell, Veteran's Department.
Vera enjoyed long walks, reading and attending Mass at St. Joseph the Worker Shrine in Lowell during her lunch break every day.
Most of all, Vera cherished her family. She looked forward to family cookouts, shopping with her daughter, and according to her children, making the " The Best Apple Pie ".
Survivors include her three children and their spouses, Eileen and Ron Marchildon of Pepperell, William and Carol Larrivee of Westford, Kathleen and William Cymbura of Pepperell; five grandchildren, Pamela Donnelly and her husband Sean, Robert Marchildon and his wife Emma, Nicole Sprague and her husband Scott, Elissa Libby and her husband Jesse, Laura Nelson and her husband Brian; five great-grandchildren, Louis, Zachary, Makayla, Jackson, Ella; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Gertrude Kelly and Helen Scanlon.
