Lowell - Valmore R. "Val" Gregoire, beloved husband of Cecile M. (Boisvert) Gregoire, a resident of Lowell, died Wednesday August 26, 2009 at a local nursing home following a short illness. He was 87.
Born in Lowell on September 4, 1921, he was a son of the late Edouard and Eva (Blouin) Gregoire.
Mr. Gregoire served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Association.
He was employed at the former Boston Naval Shipyard as a supervisor. Mr. Gregoire was a communicant of the former St. Louis de France Church.
Surviving him besides his wife of 67 years are a daughter Margaret Richards; a granddaughter Anne Willoughby and her husband Jack, all of Annapolis, MD; a sister in law, Doris Keter and her daughter Jo Ann Keter both of Lowell; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Sylvio, Conrad, and Lionel Gregoire, Simone Lemieux, Idola Boone, and Roberta Schiripo.
