Vahan William "Bill" Menasian

Nov 6, 1935 — Oct 28, 2026

Methuen

Vahan William “Bill” Menasian, 90, of Methuen, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2026, at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Lowell on November 6, 1935, Vahan was the son of the late Malkhas and Mariam (Mativosian) Menasian. Raised and educated in Lowell, he graduated from Lowell High School with the Class of 1954. He resided in Dracut for many years before moving to his nephew Kraig’s in Methuen.

Vahan was employed by Western Electric, later known as Lucent Technologies, for more than 42 years, where he worked in quality assurance, testing newly designed products. He also proudly served in the United States National Guard for nine years.

A lifelong member of Saints Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church in Chelmsford, Vahan devoted his time to his church community, serving on the Parish Council as Assistant Treasurer. He also attended Holy Archangels Armenian Apostolic Church in Haverhill.

Following his retirement from Lucent Technologies in 1998, Vahan continued to keep himself busy by helping his beloved nephew Kraig with his business. Whether maintaining equipment, making repairs, or running for parts, he was always willing to lend a hand.

Family meant everything to Vahan. He loved all his nieces and nephews. Bill and his nephew Frankie shared a special relationship, which helped guide Franky into the profession of a Delta commercial airline mechanic. At which he was particularly accomplished. He also shared an especially close and treasured bond with his nephew Kraig, his wife Andrea, and their two sons, Drew and Jax. Vahan made his home with them for the last 15 years of his life, becoming an irreplaceable part of their everyday lives.

To those who knew him, he was "Uncle Bill,” a familiar, cherished presence whose kindness, generosity, and unmistakable personality left a lasting impression from his past stories. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Vahan is survived by his brother, Mel Menasian and his wife, Judy of Haverhill; his nieces and nephews, Donna T. Minasian-Friedman of Florida, Frank Minasian and his wife, Nini of Nashua, NH, Lisa (Menasian) Colloca and her husband, Robert, and their children, Talina and Mark of Pelham, NH, Nancy (Menasian) Shields and her husband, Arthur, and their children, Hailey and Dylan of Atkinson, NH, and Kraig Menasian and his wife, Andrea, and their children, Drew and Jax of Methuen.

He was predeceased by his brother, Frank Minasian, sister-in-law, Terry Minasian, and wife, Aline Bellerose.
