OBITUARY
LOWELL - Ulric J. "Ricky" Fisette, a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, beloved husband of Irene M. (Ducharme) Fisette, died Friday, April 30, 2004 at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA.
Born in Lowell he was a son of the late Napoleon and Orea (Cheney) Fisette.
A decorated Army Veteran of World War II serving in both the European and African-Middle Eastern Theaters, Mr. Fisette participated in the Normandy Invasion and was awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze Star with 4 Bronze Clover Leafs, 2 Purple Hearts for wounds received in action, the Presidential Citation, the Unit Citation and the Combat Infantry Badge. Mr. Fisette was to be honored at the May Dedication of the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. Veterans Organizations he was affiliated with were the V.F.W. Walker Rogers Post 662, the Lowell D.A.V., the Veterans of St. Louis and the American Legion Post 87. Other memberships included the Chelmsford Lodge of Elks and the Centralville Social Club.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Fisette had worked in the Department of Public Works for the City of Lowell for over 33 years and was a member of the Retired State, County and Municipal Employees.
He was also a communicant of St. Louis de France Church.
Besides his wife he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Russell W. and Nancy (Lynch) Fisette of Tewksbury; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gail M. and Denis Morrissette of Dracut and Denise M. and Gene Bernardi of Ventura, CA; a sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Leo Prescott of Lowell; two grandchildren, Angela and Michelle Fisette; a sister-in-law, Florence Fisette of Dracut. He was the brother of the late Gerald Fisette of Dracut.
