Tony E. Cordeiro, 71, a resident of North Billerica, died Thursday November 28, 2013 at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He was the beloved husband of Gabriela V. (Costa) Cordeiro.
Born in Terceira, Azores, Portugal on March 31, 1942, he was a son of the late Antonio I. and Diane (Freitas) Cordeiro.
Tony was employed by Crown Cork and Seal in Lawrence as a fork lift operator for 18 years.
Tony had many pastimes, but one he enjoyed very much, was fishing. He also looked forward to going to the beach with his daughter in the summer where they enjoyed a special tradition of having a delicious pizza seaside. Tony loved to garden and took so much pride in his gardens at his home.
In addition to his wife, Tony is survived by his daughter Leslie Cunha and her husband, Richard of Wilmington; his precious grandson, Cameron Cunha of Wilmington; three brothers, Manuel Cordeiro and his wife, Louisa of Peabody, John Cordeiro and his wife, Danuta of Virginia, Oldemiro Cordeiro and his wife, Vivelinda of RI; three sisters, Laura Aguiar of FL, Fatima Angelicchio of RI and Ascensao Alves of RI; a step son, Joseph Costa and his wife, Izaltina of Lowell; step grandchildren Larry Costa and his wife, Cameron of CA, Elizabeth Carroll and her husband, James of Andover, Kelli Eliopoulos and her husband, Jay of Lowell; and six step great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and extended family.
