Timothy J. Ebacher, Esq., 53, of Lowell died Thursday March 1, 2012 at his home following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Ellen (Casey) Ebacher of Lowell with whom he was married for twenty-four years.
Born in Concord, MA on July 29, 1958, he was the son of Rudolph Ebacher of Bedford and the late Vivienne (Mead) Ebacher.
Tim graduated in 1980 with a BA in Political Science from The University of Lowell; he then went on to earn a Doctorate of Law from Western College of Law in Springfield. He practiced law for 20 years at his firm Law offices of Timothy J. Ebacher until illness led to his retirement.
Tim volunteered his time in various organizations throughout the city. He was a member of the City of Lowell Zoning Board of Appeals. He was the president of Board of Directors for the Center for Hope and Healing - Rape Crisis Services of Lowell. Tim was also the president of the Lowell Association of the Blind.
He was a rabid sports fan and was ardent supporter of the UMASS Lowell River Hawks Hockey Team. Tim loved reading, music and enjoyed playing both the piano and the banjo.
In addition to his wife and parents, Tim is survived by two brothers, Jon A. Ebacher and his wife, Jill Wannamaker of Jacksonville, FL; Christopher Ebacher and his wife, Joanne Gravelle of Dudley; a sister, Elizabeth Ebacher of North Hampton; his mother and father in law, Paul and Elaine Casey of Chelmsford; sisters and brothers in law, Susan and Joseph Sullivan of Pelham, NH; Janet and Ralph Melchionda of Pelham, NH; Aileen and John McGurk of New Ipswich, NH; many dear friends, especially Thomas Frouge, David Ellis, William Casey and Dan Tenczar; several nieces and nephews. He was the brother-in-law of the late Steven Casey.
