Thomas James "T Mac" McCullough

LOWELL - Thomas James McCullough, Jr. ( T Mac ), age 71, a longtime resident of Lowell died surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, January 16, 2021 following a long illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Donna M. (Margeson) McCullough, who died in 1996. 

He was born in Medford on January 14, 1950, and was the eldest son of the late Thomas James McCullough, Sr. and the late Phyllis M. (Rowe) McCullough. 

Prior to his retirement, Tom was employed for many years as an utility locating technician by On Target and then by DigSafe. 

He played football in his younger years and was an avid football fan his entire life. He loved watching old westerns. He coached Little League at Shedd Park in Lowell and took the championship. He was also a member of several pool and dart leagues throughout the years. 

Papa was a proud Irishman who loved his family. St. Patty's day was his favorite holiday and he often donned the appropriate attire all year long. He was tough and true. He had a booming laugh right to his last day (earning him the nickname Tommy gun). He had the spirit of a fighter, and a heart of gold. He will be missed dearly.

Tom is survived by his two daughters, Tina M. Fontes and Kellie A. Perry and her husband Manuel D. all of Lowell; three grandchildren, Devon Fontes and his fiancé Martina Jiminez, Kelsey Perry and her fiancé Robert Koller, and Hailey Perry and
her fiancé James Carter, all of Lowell; eight great grandchildren, Thomas J. McCullough, III, Myles Koller, Aiva Fontes, Mason Koller, Mayzee Koller, James Carter, Jailey Carter, and Juliette Carter; a brother, Stephen McCullough of FL; a sister, Cathy Lavigne and her husband Robert of FL; His long time sweetheart Dianne Judd of lowell; His godson Normand Lavigne and wife Debra of NH. and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He was also the grandfather of the late Deanne Fontes, the great grandfather of the late Dean McCullough, and the brother of the late Jimmy, Billy, Mike, Jackie, and David McCullough. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Tom's Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Tuesday, January 26th from 4:00 until 8:00 pm. Due to Covid-19 face masks and social distancing are required at the funeral home.
