Therese M. Lagasse

Therese M. (Boisvert) (Beausoleil) Lagasse, 92, passed away at home on April 27, 2023 with family by her side. Therese was born on October 18, 1930 to Henri and Elizabeth (Bellemare) Boisvert of Lowell. She was the wife of the late Andre Lagasse, and prior to Andre, the wife of the late Rodolphe Beausoleil.

Therese graduated from Saint Joseph’s High School for Girls. She was employed by Saint Joseph’s Hospital as a nurse’s aide for many years. After the loss of her first husband, she went on to work for Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union as Head Teller until retirement.

She was quite proud of her brief tennis career, defeating her opponent in the City’s Tennis Tournament Women’s Singles 1947. Therese enjoyed sewing and knitting for her children and grandchildren. She instilled in her children to always have a giving heart.

Therese is survived and will be missed by her daughter, Janine Whitcomb; her son, Robert Beausoleil and his special friend Heidi McNair of Dracut; her daughter-in-law, Denise Beausoleil of Hudson, NH; her son-in-law, Daniel Kelley of Tewksbury and the Lagasse Family. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her two sons, Paul and Maurice Beausoleil and her daughter, Michele Kelley.

The family would like to send a special thank you to their mom’s nurse, Michele and her aide, Kerry, both of West River Hospice and to Heidi McNair. It was because of their special care that Therese’s wish to remain at home was made possible. We are very grateful to all our family and friends for their generous time and support.

At Therese’s request the services will be simple. Relatives and friends are invited to her Life Celebration on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 10 until 12 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. Please refrain from sending flowers. She would be grateful for any act of kindness given to another on her behalf.
