Therese M. (Higgins) Holdsworth

DRACUT - Therese M. (Higgins) Holdsworth, RN, age 89, a longtime resident of Dracut died Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at her home following a long illness surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert F. Holdsworth.

She was born in Lowell on February 10, 1933, and was a daughter of the late Charles and Rosetta (Laverty) Higgins. She attended St. Patrick Grammar School and was graduate of St. Patrick High School, both in Lowell. She was also a graduate of St. Joseph Nursing School in Lowell.

Prior to her retirement, Therese was employed for many years as a registered nurse at the E.N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford. Early in her career, she was employed as a private duty nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Lowell.

Therese enjoyed spending time in the sun at the beach and spending time in the company of her loving family.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Martineau and her husband Maurice of Chelmsford; her three sons, Charles Holdsworth of Exeter, NH and his partner Sharon Lembo, Robert Holdsworth and his wife Danielle of Derry, NH and John Holdsworth and his wife Carolyn of Lowell; four grandchildren, Sammy Holdsworth of Pelham, NH, Tia Martineau of Durham, NH, Alyssa Holdsworth of Nashua, NH and Kerilyn Spencer; three great grandchildren, Jayce Holdsworth, Sage Kim and Everett Spencer; and her sister-in-law, Mary Higgins of Lowell.

She was also the sister of the late Charles Higgins and the mother-in-law of the late Judy Holdsworth, RN.

It being Therese's wish, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be in her memory to St. Patrick School, 311 Adams St., Lowell, MA 01854.
