Theresa M. Richards

Theresa Marie (Guillemette) Richards, age 95, resident of Dracut, died Friday, November 10, 2023 at D’Youville Life and Wellness Community. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald L. Richards, who predeceased her in 2007. They were married 58 years.

Born in Westford on October 16, 1928 and the daughter of the late Antoinette (Lamy) and Albert Guillemette. Theresa attended Westford schools and graduated from vocational school in Lowell.

She worked out of her home many years as a custom seamstress and had costumers from many areas. She also worked at Wood Brothers in Lowell after her sewing years and St. Joseph Shrine and gift shop in Lowell.

Theresa was a parishioner of Ste. Marguerite D’Youville Parish.

She was an avid Red Sox fan and card player with her friends for many years.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and John Vickers of Billerica; she will be deeply missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Denis Richards and Francine of Merrimack, NH; her two grandsons and their wives, Shawn and Jennifer Richards of West Henrietta, NY and Jamie and Katie of Merrimack, NH; her three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Brenton and Eve Richards; her sister-in-law, Marie Richards of Natick; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her brothers Raymond Guillemette and his wife Merle, Roger Guillemette and his wife Claire and Robert Guillemette and his wife M. Jeannette; as well as many other in-laws.

Relatives and friends are invited to Theresa’s Life Celebration on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 4 until 7 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM in Ste. Marguerite d’Youville Church, Dracut. Burial to follow in St. Catherine Cemetery, Westford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Theresa’s memory to the American Parkinson Disease Association, 85 East Concord Street, Ground Floor, Boston, MA 02118.
