Dracut - Theresa Ann Proulx, 81, a longtime Dracut resident, died Saturday, June 9th, at home with her family after a long battle with cancer. She was the wife of Roger A. Proulx for the past 59 years.
Born in Lowell on May 30th, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Louise Kelly. She graduated from Lowell High School, Class of '49, then attended Lowell Commercial College. Over the years she worked as a bookkeeper for several local businesses, her last being the Battles Home in Lowell.
In addition to her husband, her survivors include three sons, Thomas Proulx of Tyngsborough, Brian Proulx of Londonderry, N.H., and Kevin Proulx of Los Angeles, Ca.; a daughter, Patricia Roth of Tyngsborough; two grandchildren, Marcus Ryan Roth and Linsey Noelle Roth of Tyngsborough; her sister, Helen Tighe of Lowell; longtime friends Patricia McCartin of Dracut, Arlene Miele of New
Hampshire, and Terry Condon of Falmouth;
Sisters and brothers-in-law, Blanche and Reginald Furness, Richard and Lorraine Proulx, and the late Russell Proulx, all from N. Chelmsford, and Ruth Proulx, of Dracut; her nieces and nephews Louise Tighe and her husband Robert Schneider of Derry, N.H., William and Silvija Tighe of Allentown, PA., Jeff Furness of N. Chelmsford, Chera and Walter Proctor of Plaistow, N.H., Debbie and Roland Mousseau of Billerica, Kim Beaudin of Salem, N.H., Terry Hanson of N.Y., Victoria and Glenn Geisler of N.Y., Lee Proulx of Maine and the late Paul and Sally Furness of Weare, N.H.
She was also the sister of the late Marian & Robert Gray of Penacook, N.H., and William F. Kelly of Lowell.
Beloved and devoted wife, mother, and friend to many, she especially enjoyed walking, bowling, Saturday afternoon excursions and playing cards. Her indomitable spirit and love and concern for others lives on in us all.
