Theresa C. Pilat

Devoted Mother, Grandmother & Great-Grandmother

Theresa C. (Gaillardetz) Pilat, age 99, died at Northwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Stanley F. Pilat, until his passing in 2006.

Born in Lowell on November 11, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Arize (Elie) and Arthur Gaillardetz. In addition to staying home and raising her children, Theresa worked alongside her niece, Jean Cayer at her local salon, Brandy’s for many years helping with whatever needed to be done.

Theresa was a communicant and eucharistic minister of St. Michael Church, where she attended daily mass for many years. She was also a member of the Legion of Mary for 25 years and a past president as well. Outside of her faith, her true devotion was with her family and all the memorable moments with her children, grand and great-grandchildren and other close family and friends made along the way.

She is survived by her son, David Pilat of Sullivan, NH; her eight grandchildren, Kelly Shaw and her husband, Kevin, Nicole Parsons, Renee Carbone and her husband, Daniel, Stefanie Pilat, Kyndra Kennedy and her husband, Jason, Stephen Finnigan, Jeffrey Finnigan and Justin Pilat; her eight great-grandchildren; as well as many other family and friends.

Theresa was the mother of the late Janet Rocheleau and Diane Parsons and the sister of the late Elsie Lussier, Rita Eno, William Gaillardetz, Raymond Gaillardetz and Henry Gaillardetz.

Relatives and friends are invited to Theresa’s Life Celebration on Monday, January 27, 2025 from 4 until 7 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM at St. Michael Church, Lowell. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
