HAVERHILL – Theresa A. (Rancourt) Desrocher, 90, a longtime resident of Methuen, a former resident of St. Petersburg, FL and most recently a resident of Penacook Place, in Haverhill, died Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Penacook Place. She was the wife of the late Gerard J. Desrocher who died in 2011.
She was born in Lowell on June 24, 1926, and was a daughter of the late Theophile and Aurore (Dufresne) Rancourt. She received her education in Lowell schools.
Theresa dedicated her life to tending to the needs of her home and family, who were the most important part of her life.
Earlier in life she was employed in the shoe industry in Lawrence and as a secretary by R & L Trucking in Woburn.
Theresa enjoyed sewing, playing cards, shuffle board, doing jigsaw puzzles, spending time in Florida, and above all spending time with her loving family and friends.
She is survived by her son Roland "Ron" Desrocher and his wife Cynthia of Methuen; daughters; Helen Asquith and her husband Robert of Londonderry, NH and Joyce Pelland and her husband Richard of Pelham, NH; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Karla, Kristen, Jason, Colin, Jon, and Holly; eight great grandchildren, A.J., Andre, Kevin, Shawn, Leah, Jackson, Joshua, and Toby; her sister, Helen Breault and her husband Maurice "Sonny" of Westford; four brothers, Armand "Leo" and his wife, Doris of Florida, Rene Rancourt and his wife, Rachel of Tyngsboro, George Rancourt and his wife, Claire of Lowell, Robert Rancourt of Pepperell, sister-in-law Doris Rancourt of Hudson, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Raymond Rancourt and a sister-in-law Shirley Rancourt.
Theresa's family would like to thank the staff at Penacook Place for their care and compassion that they gave to her throughout her stay there.
