Theresa A. (Cyr) Clark

Theresa A. (Cyr) Clark, beloved wife of Bill Clark for more than 66 years died on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Brigham and Women's Hospital. She suffered a stroke earlier in the week and was surrounded and faithfully supported by her family continually during her last days.
Born in Lawrence MA on December 17, 1926, she was the daughter of Guy and Eva (Paquin) Cyr, who both pre-deceased her. She was the oldest of 7 children; Jeannette Clark, Donald Cyr and Claire Denoncourt survive her and Rita Sylvester, Roland Cyr and Lorraine Clark pre-deceased her. She leaves sisters-in-law Sharon Cyr, Dorcas Matthews and her husband Elwin, Muriel Driscoll, MaryAda Clair and Juanita Clark. She and Bill had 6 children; Shirley Clark Cyr and her husband Paul, Donna Clark Spellissy and her husband Bernie, Bill Clark Jr and his wife Martha, Richard Clark, Judi Clark Regan and her husband John and Cathy Clark Gettings whose husband Mark died in June 2008. She was "Grammy" to Kristine Cyr Goodwin, Rebecca Cyr Fayed, Tara Spellissy Bedard, Katie Spellissy, Jennifer Clark Moreau, Bill Clark III, Bryant Clark, Ben Clark, Tim Regan, Stacey Regan Resto, Kerrie Regan, Justin Regan, Scott Gettings and Jason Gettings. She leaves 24 great grandchildren ranging from age 22 to 3 months old, with each of whom she shared much time and leaves each of them with wonderful memories of being special to her and Bill. Her extended family includes many nieces and nephews locally and across the country.
She began her work life in the mills of Lawrence and Lowell and worked off and on over her years, but her primary vocation was being a dedicated wife and mother providing a comfortable and welcoming home and a loving environment for her entire family, often having extended family members living in the 3 bedroom, 1 bath home. Amazingly she managed all of this for more than 66 years keeping peace and harmony among all. Many of their retirement years were spent traveling, spending several winters in Ormand Beach, Florida and enjoying Disney World and Seaworld trips with family many times. She and Bill were diligent about maintaining good health and part of that was walking daily at the Pheasant Lane Mall early mornings where they made and maintained many wonderful friendships. When all the children grew and left home, they added a new addition to the "family," a golden retriever "Randy" who kept them quite busy and filled the house with activity. "Randy" was followed by other goldens to today's "Benji" who will miss her and be a comfort to Bill. Theresa had a very strong devotion to St. Jude and relied on his intervention through prayer many times in her life. She and Bill were parishioners of St. Michael's, Lowell where many family sacraments were celebrated over the years.
