Thelma J. (Cordeau) (Cote) Bedard

Thelma J (Cordeau) Bedard, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, age 93, died Friday, August 8, 2014, at Fairview Nursing Home in Hudson, NH with her family at her side. Born in Lowell on September 30, 1920, she was the daughter of Charles and Mathilda (Morrison) Cordeau, and the widow of Edmund Bedard of Goffstown, NH. She was also the widow of Jules E Cote of Dracut, MA who died in 1978.

Thelma was a graduate of St Louis Academy. Prior to her retirement was employed by the Cancer Registry at Lowell General Hospital and St John's Hospital. She also enjoyed working at the Pelham Colonial Barn, had been a nurse's aide during World War II, and had fond memories of working with her father at his pharmacy during her youth.

She loved music, having played piano and organ for many years. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, traveling and mostly spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter Jeannine Swerchesky and husband Stanley of Hollis NH, with whom she had previously resided; her step son Raymond Bedard and his wife Carol of Goffstown, NH; grandsons, Aaron Swerchesky and his wife Kristin of Littleton, CO, Joel Swerchesky and his wife Laura of Derry, NH; step granddaughters, Betsy Mathieu and her husband Tom, Holly Davis and her husband Craig, all of Manchester, NH; six great grandchildren, Mia and Anna Swerchesky, Kate Swerchesky, Brandon Hanson , Rosalie and Fletcher Davis; three brothers-in-law, Normand Cote of CA, Paul Bedard and Robert Bedard both of NH; also many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers Raymond Cordeau and George Cordeau; as well as several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
