Susan T. (Clogston) Muise

August 27, 1952 — September 27, 2014

Susan Therese (Clogston) Muise passed away on September 27, 2014 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House after a long illness. In 1987, Susan Married Richard (Rick) Muise in Lowell. They were happily married for more than 27 years.

Born in Lowell on August 27, 1952, she was a daughter of the late Robert George Clogston and of Marie Therese (Caron) (Clogston) Coffey of Lowell who survives her.

Susan grew up in the communities of Tewksbury and Lowell, graduating from Lowell High School in 1971.

A lifelong resident of Eastern Massachusetts, Susan had previously worked for Saints Hospital in Lowell for 19 years. She had recently retired from Community Teamwork Incorporated (CTI), an organization helping more than 50,000 people and strengthening communities in 63 cities and towns in Massachusetts.
Growing up, Susan's sense of humor was exhibited in funny imitations of voices and cartoon characters. She used her artistic abilities to create gifts for family members.

Before her passing, Susan completed researching and writing a genealogical history of her paternal roots. "Clogston: A New England Genealogy," was lovingly published for her family members. An extensive study of the Clogston family name originating in Scotland and England, the book traces family members from colonial New Hampshire through the Civil War to the Twentieth and Twenty-first centuries throughout New England.

In addition to her husband and mother, Susan is survived by her step daughter, Marianne Muise and her partner, Paul Scanlon, Jr. of Woburn; her sister, Doris Clogston Clegg of Upper Saucon Township, PA. Susan will be dearly missed by her four grandsons; Timothy (TJ) Cerasale, Jr. of Woburn; Tristan Cerasale of ME; Mark Cerasale of Woburn; Paul A. Scanlon, III of Woburn; two nieces, Kelly Burczynski and her husband, Ken of SC; Allison Benedict and her husband, Jason of VA; two nephews, Alonzo Clegg, III and his wife, Colleen of PA; Jeffrey Clegg and his wife, Mary of NJ; six grand nieces and nephews.
