Suellen F. “Sue” Boulé, age 72, a longtime resident of Dracut, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Lowell General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Leo G. Boulé, whom she has been together with for 50 years.
She was born in Lowell on January 23, 1952, and was a daughter of the late Latham A. and Dorothy T. (Desmond) Farnham. She received her education in Dracut schools.
Prior to her retirement, Sue was a school bus driver for Tewksbury Public Schools. She had also worked in Dracut and Chelmsford during her career. Earlier in life she was a hairdresser and owned a hair salon. She was also a professional and talented seamstress.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing darts and bowling and was a member of the Monday Morning Jewels bowling team.
On April 2, 2003 Sue’s son Mathew was killed in action in Iraq and that took a tremendous tole on Sue for the rest of her life. She devoted the rest of her life keeping Mathew’s memory alive and was instrumental in the creation of both the Gold Star Family license plates in Massachusetts and the Army Spc Mathew G. Boulé Memorial Park on Lakeview Ave. in Dracut.
In addition to her husband, she is survived two sons, Kristopher L. Boulé of Dracut and Michael W. Boulé and his wife Elaine of New Boston, NH; a daughter, WendySue Norton and her husband Robert of Goffstown NH; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Jo-Ellen Farnham of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Army Spc Mathew G. Boulé and the sister of the late Richard Farnham and Linda Bostwick.
It being Sue’s wish, there will be no visitation and services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sue’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
