Stephanie A. Pilat, 94 a lifelong resident of the Centralville section of the city, died Saturday April 10, 2004 in a local nursing home following a brief illness.
Born in Lowell on February 13, 1910, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Katarzyna (Wilk) Pilat. A lifelong communicant of the Holy Trinity Polish Church, she attended daily mass at St. Michael Church. She received her early education in local schools.
Prior to her retirement, Miss Pilat had been employed as a cafeteria worker with the City of Lowell School Department for many years. She had also been employed with the Newmarket Mills and the Courier Citizen. After her retirement, she worked 15 years as a foster grandparent ath the Greenhalge and Varnum Schools.
Survivin her are a brother and sister in law, Stanley and Theresa Pilat of Lowell; her three nieces, Diane Parsons of Dracut, Margaret Pilat of Nashua and Janet Rocheleau and her huband, Albert Rocheleau of Lowell; a nephew David Pilat of Lowell; also several great grandnieces and nephews and great great grandnieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late John, Walter and Thadeus Pilat and Josephine Kultys.
