Stella M. (Mooney) "Nana" DiRocco, 79, a lifelong Dracut resident, died Thursday March 25, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington following an extended illness.
She was born in Lowell on June 7, 1924 a daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Corcoran) Mooney.
She retired from the former St. John's Hospital following 17 years in the housekeeping department.
Ms. DiRocco was a communicant of St. Michael Church, and was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived three sons and two daughters in law, Leo and Bonnie (Hooper) DiRocco of Tewsbury, Norm and Carol (Bello) DiRocco of Lowell, and Ralph DiRocco of Dracut with whom she made her home; five grandchildren, Todd DiRocco and His wife Kimberly , Paula Dumont and her husband Michael, Amy DiRocco, Carrie Sousa and her husband John, and Keith DiRocco; six great grandchildren; Zachary and Alexander DiRocco, Courtney and Hannah Dumont, Kayla and John Sousa; a sister in law Rita Mooney of Dracut; a dear friend Ann Pierce of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Vincent Mooney.
