Stella F. (Strykowski) Diamantopoulos, 82, a resident of Dracut, formerly a longtime Lowell resident, died Monday afternoon at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Paul N. Diamantopoulos who died in 2006.
Born on September 06, 1929, she was a daughter of the late John and Tekla (Szafran) Strykowski, and was educated in the Lowell schools.
Mrs. Diamantopoulos worked for many years as a Lab Technician at the Du Pont Company in Billerica. She also worked as a waitress in various local restaurants and served as a volunteer for C.T.I. at Chelmsford Crossing. She was a member of the Ladies Auxillary of both the Polish American Veterans Club and the East End Club. Stella loved ballroom dancing, traveling, bowling and was an avid cribbage player.
She is survived by two sons, John P. Diamantopoulos of Lowell and Stephen M. Diamantopoulos of Dracut; four daughters, Gail M. Diamantopoulos and her fiancée James McQuaid of Lowell, Deborah A. Harvey of Dracut, Paula L. Sayer of Dracut and Kathy L. Szymanski and her husband Jan of Dracut; eight grandchildren, Jason Sayer, Erica Harvey, Alyssa and Justin Diamantopoulos, John, Evan and Lauren Szymanski and Cody Diamantopoulos; a brother, Stanley Strykowski and his wife Claire of Dracut and many nieces and nephews.
Stella was also the mother in law of the late Frank Harvey and sister of the late Frank Strykowski and Sophie Winn
