Obituary
Lowell - Stanley F. Pilat, 88, a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, died Wednesday, March 01, 2006 at his home. He was the husband of Theresa C. (Gaillardetz) Pilat, with whom he would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on May 15, 2006.
Born in Lowell on October 4, 1917, he was a son of the late Joseph and Katarzyna (Wilk) Pilat.
Mr. Pilat was a graduate of Lowell High School, Class of 1936.
He served with the United States Navy during World War II.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Pilat worked for the City of Lowell for over 30 years as a truck driver for the D.P.W. He was a member of the retired State, County and Municipal Employees.
He was also a bartender for many years at the Polish American Veteran's Club in Centralville. He was a member of both the Polish American Veteran's Club and the Dom Polski Club and was an avid Red Sox Fan.
He was a communicant of St. Michael Church and a member of the Holy Name Society and an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Diane Parsons of Dracut and Janet Rocheleau and her husband Albert of Lowell; a son, David S. Pilat of Lowell; five granddaughters, Kelly Shaw and her husband Kevin of Lowell, Nicole Parson of Dracut, Renee Carbone and her husband Daniel of Dracut, Stefanie Pilat and Kyndra Pilat, both of Tyngsboro; three grandsons, Stephen Finnigan of Iowa, Jeffrey Finnigan of Lowell and Justin Pilat and his wife Jessica of Winchester; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Stephanie, John, Walter and Thadeus "Ted" Pilat and Josephine Kultys.
