Sophia B. (Bonczar) Szymanski, 88, of Dracut, beloved wife of the late Jan A. Szymanski, died Friday August 20, 2010 at Saints Medical Center.
Born in Lowell on July 6, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Marya (Winiarski) Bonczar.
Sophia began her career working as a secretary for the plant manager at General Electric in Lowell. She continued her career as a secretary in the Dracut school system for many years. Sophia was also involved in many aspects of her family business, Reliable Refrigeration.
Sophia was a longtime member of the Polish Falcons.
She was a loving caregiver to all, especially her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law Maryann F. and Paul J. Delisle of Dracut; a son and daughter-in-law, Jan A. Szymanski, Jr. and Kathy (Diamantopoulos) Szymanski of Dracut; five grandchildren, Ian and Ross Delisle, John, Evan and Lauren Szymanski, all of Dracut; several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Carrie, Stanley, Ann, John, Josie, Teddy, Mickey and Jean.

SZYMANSKI- Relatives and friends may call at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell from 5 until 8 PM on Tuesday August 24, 2010. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 10 AM in the Holy Trinity Church, 350 High Street, Lowell. Burial in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
