Shawn M. Griffin, a Dracut resident died unexpectedly on Sunday January 26, 2014. He was 40.
Shawn was born in Lowell on January 16, 1974, a son of Deborah (McArthur) Maille and Michael Griffin both of Dracut who survive him.
Shawn was employed as a construction laborer. He enjoyed all sports especially football.
He played football for Dracut Pop Warner, Chelmsford High School and at Nicholls College while attending there.
Shawn also coached football for Lowell Pop Warner and Girls Softball teams in Lowell.
Shawn is described by family member as an outgoing person with a big personality. He was energetic and hard working. He was a friend to many.
Surviving Shawn besides his parents are two brothers and a sister in law, Justin Maille, Ian and Sina Maille all of Dracut; his paternal grandmother Nancy Landry of Dracut; two nieces, Taylor Maille, Felicty Emanuel; a nephew Tyrone Evans all of Dracut; aunts and uncles, Pamela and Michael Endyke of Windham, NH, Charles and Judi McArthur of Hubbardston; cousins Jasmin Tyler, Caitlin Endyke, Dylan Endyke; and many friends. He was the grandson of the late Charles and Marie McArthur and the late Don Landry.
