Shawn P. Clougherty

Shawn P. Clougherty, 57, resident of North Chelmsford, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved father of his three children, Callie, Cydney and Shawn Jr. and partner of Danielle M. Friant.

He was born in Lowell on August 18, 1967, a son of Linda (Blaikie) Clougherty of North Chelmsford and the late Peter Clougherty. Shawn was a man who loved to work and always stay busy. He was the first one there when it came to anyone needing help, especially when it came to his family.

Shawn was a giant. Both in stature and in personality. He was always the life of the party in true Leo form but also made sure everyone was included. He was the man that exemplified what true generosity looked like. Was always the first person to offer the shirt off his back and never asked for anything in return. He demonstrated that you should always work hard for what you wanted but also that the true measure of someone’s worth was not in their bank account but in the company they carry. Shawn touched many lives around him and to know him was a privilege.

Shawn enjoyed playing sports in his younger years and often told his children about his football playing days at Lowell High. He was also a big believer in the phenomenon of Bigfoot.

In addition to his mother, he is survived and will be deeply missed by his three children, Callie Wallace and her husband Ian of Lowell, Cydney Furman and her husband Billy of Lowell and Shawn Clougherty, Jr. of North Chelmsford; his grandchildren, Everleigh Rauseo and Adecyn Furman; his brothers, Shane Clougherty and his wife Susan of North Chelmsford and Brandon Clougherty of Lowell; his niece and nephew, Devin and Makayla Clougherty; as well as many other family and friends.

He is predeceased by his sister-in-law, Stephanie Clougherty.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 4 PM at the East End Club, 15 W Fourth Street, Lowell, MA 01850.
