Sharon A. (Zannoni) Close

Sharon A. (Zannoni) Close, beloved wife of Ronald W. Close, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018, at her Dracut residence surrounded by her loving family. She was 71.

Sharon was born in Lowell on February 24, 1947, a daughter of the late Paul and Katherine (Golden) Zannoni.

Sharon and Ron lived in Lowell for many years before moving to Dracut several years ago.

Prior to her retirement she worked as a telephone receptionist. Since her retirement Sharon was able to spend time with her grandchildren, who were her world.

Sharon was outgoing and friendly. She was accepting of people and would famously say, "He's a good guy". Sharon enjoyed the beach and she was always up for a new adventure. A foodie, she loved to try new things. She had a passion for dancing and was called the "Dancing Doll" by many. Sharon was always willing to help someone or lend a hand whenever needed.
She was a member of the East End Club for many years.

Surviving her besides her husband Ron is a daughter and son in law, Dawn and John Cooper of Dracut; two grandchildren, Corey and Tara Cooper; her brothers and sisters and spouses, P. Michael and Judy Zannoni of Lowell, Dennis and Fran Zannoni of Dunstable, Edward Zannoni, Kathleen and Richard Toupin, Bernard Zannoni, Lisa and Arthur Macuit all of Dracut; her mother in law Mildred Close of Dracut; sisters in law and brothers in law, Leah and Jay Reynolds of Pelham, NH L. Rick Poindexter of Colbrook, NH; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also the mother of the late Tara Lee Close.
Relatives and friends are invited to Sharon's Life Celebration in the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, from 4 until 8 PM on Friday. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 Am in St. Francis Parish, 115 Wheeler Rd. Dracut. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery. Donations in Sharon's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
