Shana E. Morris

Shana E. Morris, age 47, a lifelong resident of the Christian Hill section of Lowell died Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at High Pointe Hospice in Haverhill following a brief illness.  

She was born in Lowell on March 27, 1975, and was the daughter of David A. and Olivia A. (Hall) Morris.  She received her education in Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School, class of 1993.  She then went on to earn a bachelors degree from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.  

Shana started her working career as a papergirl for the Lowell Sun at age 11, which she continued through high school.  During college she worked as a cashier at Broadway Convenience in Dracut.  After college she joined the Middlesex District Attorney’s office staff as a paralegal, where she worked for over 20 years and made many great friends.

She loved to run.  While speed was not in her arsenal, endurance was – and she and her mom traversed the slopes of Christian Hill each morning for years.  Shana also loved purchasing Barbie Dolls and donated hundreds to the Lowell Police Department’s annual Christmas toy drives.  She was also a skilled knitter and would constantly donate handmade scarfs to warm clothing drives. 

She also enjoyed spending time with the dogs, Lucy, Desi and Gabby – to whom she affectionately referred to as “The Ladies.” They preceded her on their trip to the Rainbow Bridge and are no doubt rejoicing at her arrival.

In addition to her parents, Shana is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, John D. and Amy Morris of Lowell; her nephew and niece, Luke Morris and Rosalie Morris; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Shana’s Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shana’s memory to the Lowell Humane Society, 951 Broadway Road, Lowell, MA 01854.
