Ruth M. (Garland) Patenaude, 90, a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, died Tuesday evening, March 24, 2015 at a local health care facility. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred J. Patenaude.
Born in Waterboro, Maine, on May 26, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Marion (Whitten) Garland.
Prior to her retirement, Ruth was employed by M/A-Com as an assembler.
Mrs. Patenaude was an avid reader and also enjoyed plastic canvas needlework, sewing, quilting, jigsaw puzzles, ceramics and cake decorating.
Most dear to Ruth was time spent with her family, especially moments with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by three sons, David Garland of Lebanon, ME, John A. Patenaude and his wife Gale (Welch) of Dracut and Michael J. Patenaude of Lowell; two brothers, Charles Garland of Epping, NH and Carl Garland and his wife Barbara of Rochester, NH; 9 grandchildren, Randall Garland and his wife Georgia, Robert Garland and his wife Amy, Kerry Patenaude, Bryan Patenaude and his wife Katy, Kevin Patenaude and his wife Debra, Rebecca Duclos, Michael Patenaude and his wife Jessica, Christopher and Amanda Patenaude; great grandchildren, Chad and Clayton Garland, Abby and Emmitt Garland, Ryan Patenaude, Evan, Kyra and Kourtney Patenaude, Jaxsen Patenaude, Madison and Carter Duclos, Samantha Patenaude, Noah and Gabrielle Patenaude.
She was the mother-in-law of the late Verna Garland and sister of the late Ethel Fowler, Goldie Durgin and her twin sister Ruby Hassen,and sister-in-law of the late Shirley Garland.
