Ruth S. (Moore) Hammar

Ruth S. (Moore) Hammar, 87, a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, died Saturday April 13, 2013 at D'Youville Senior Care. She was the wife of the late Arthur E. Hammar.
Born in Lowell on January 13, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Simonne (Lefebvre) Moore.
Ruth attended Lowell High School and later earned her RN credentials at St. Joseph's Hospital school of nursing in Lowell. She served as a Registered Nurse at Bedford VA Hospital and Solomon Mental Health Center.
She was a communicant of St. Michael Church in Lowell.
Survivors include two sons, Brian Hammar and his wife, Betty of New Boston, NH and Terence Hammar and his wife, Kasia of Falmouth, MA; four grandchildren, Christine Russell of Ft. Wayne, IN, Jennifer Masula of East Nassau, NY, Christopher Hammar of Los Angeles, CA and Ania Hammar of Nashville TN; a brother, Donald Moore of Lowell; a sister, Shirley Rogers of Vero Beach, FL; two great grandchildren, William and Emmerson Russell of Fort Wayne, IN; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Richard Moore.
