DRACUT – Ruth H. (Belleville) Coomas, 76, a resident of Dracut, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday morning, January 26, 2013. She was the beloved wife of James M. Coomas with whom she was married for 56 years.
Born in Lowell on January 4, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Maria (Brodeur) Belleville.
Mrs. Coomas was a graduate of St. Louis Parochial School and St. Louis Academy in Lowell. She worked as a manager at Princeton Village Properties and prior to her retirement was employed as a data entry clerk for the P.J. Keating Company of Dracut.
Ruth was very vibrant during her lifetime. She played tennis and golf. She loved music, dancing, excursions to Foxwoods Casino and social gatherings with friends and family. She was also very active in the community of St. Francis Parish in Dracut where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the parish cribbage league.
Mostly, Ruth cherished time with her husband, children and grandchildren celebrating birthdays, holidays and life-events.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Linda Coomas of Seattle, WA, Brenda Bourassa and her husband David of Dracut and Cindi Trank and her husband George of Dunstable; a son, Michael Coomas and his wife Christine (Stowell) of Dracut; four grandchildren, Lindsey Lackner and her husband Dan of Hollis, NH, Matthew Bourassa, Lauren Coomas and Corinne Coomas, all of Dracut; a sister, Doris Notini of Lowell; three brothers, Raymond Belleville of Pelham, NH, Willis Belleville and his wife Marge of Londonderry, NH and Jerry Belleville and his wife Betty of Mesa, AZ; sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Jeannette Belleville and Shirley McGrinchy of California, Mary McClellan of Lowell and Tom and Brenda Coomas of Tyngsboro; also many nieces and nephews. She was a sister of the late Pauline Houghtaling, Paul, Richard and Donald Belleville.
