OBITUARY
Lowell- Russell E. Johnson, 86, a resident of Lowell, died Friday, February 18, 2005 in a local nursing home. He was the husband of the late Louise May (Desmarais) Johnson.
Born in Chelmsford on February 18, 1919, he was a son of the late George and Daisy (Saunders) Johnson.
Mr. Johnson attended Chelmsford Schools and served with the United States Army in the European Theatre during World War II.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 35 years by Wright Trucking and was a member of the New England Teamsters and Trucking, AFL-CIO Local 49. He was also a member of the Dracut American Legion Post 315.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ronald L. and Lillian Johnson Sr. of Searsmont, ME; three grandchildren, Lucinda Curry and her husband Kevin of Lowell, Ronald L. Johnson Jr. and his wife Ruth of Dracut and Russell A. Johnson of Pelham, NH; three great grandchildren, Leighann McDonald, Ashley Curry and Kevin Curry Jr., all of Lowell; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
