Rose Catherine (Albertazzi) Buckley, age 92, of Dracut, MA and formally of North Reading and Dorchester, MA passed peacefully Monday afternoon at Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill after a short illness. She was predeceased by her late husband, William F. Buckley Sr., with whom she was married to for 59 years.
She was born in Boston, MA on October 14, 1919 daughter of the late Virgineo and Angiolina (Piva) Albertazzi. She was the last survivor and the youngest of thirteen siblings.
Rose enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Discussing politics, preparing a good meal, and following the local sports teams were a few of her favorite pastimes. She took pleasure in reminiscing about growing up among her many siblings on Virginia Street in Dorchester. She often bragged she was taken along to chaperone her older brothers' dates. For years she worked at the Atlantic Supermarket in North Reading, MA as a waitress at the lunch counter. Her quick wit, vivid imagination, never ending supply of energy, and love of life will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Rosemarie Buckley, and her long time friend, Donald Landry both of Dracut, MA; her son, William F. Buckley Jr. and his wife, Elaine Corsetti Buckley also of Dracut; 2 granddaughters Gia Buckley and her husband, Patrick Buckley of Plaistow, NH, and Roseann Sdoia of Boston, MA; 2 grandsons Mark Buckley and his wife, Rachel Reiss Buckley of Boulder, CO, and Ryan Buckley and his wife, Meredith Klein Buckley of New Canaan, CT; 5 great grandchildren Jane, Jessica, and Bridget Buckley all of Plaistow, NH, Jack Buckley of New Canaan, CT, and Jacob Buckley of Boulder, CO; a Godson Paul Albertazzi of Killington, VT, and Donald Landry's daughter Nicole Landry formerly of Dracut, MA; as well as many many nieces and nephews.
