Rosalie J. (Iacono) DeSalvo, age 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at her home in Lowell surrounded by her family.
Born in Chelsea on December 2, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Kathleen (Sullivan) (Iacono) Nicewicz and Rosario “Tony” Iacono.
Rosalie had a knack for arts and crafts, sewing and quilting, which supplied both her children and grandchildren with plenty of clothes for their dolls and supplied wounded veterans with booties, which she called “no toes exposed.”
She was an avid reader, a great “from scratch” cook and loved her weekly movie dates and shopping. She found the greatest joy in anything that got her out of the house, especially when it included adventures with her family. Trips to the beach for seafood and Disney were some of her fondest memories.
Rosalie is survived and will be missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was the mother of the late Timothy DeSalvo and sister of the late Barbara Kiley and Linda Moniz.
Per Rosalie’s wishes services were held privately. Burial in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
