Ronald C. Nicolls

Ronald C. Nicolls, 59, of Dracut, died Wednesday January 22, 2014 at Lowell General Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Valarie (Basdanes) Nicolls of Dracut with whom he was married for 39 years.
Born in Lowell on May 29, 1954, He was a son of the late Henry E. Nicolls and Irene Y.(Sylvain) Nicolls of Dracut who survives him.
Ronald was proudly employed as a superintendent for Sullivan Construction. He had many interests including cooking, gardening and painting. He was an avid rock collector and his extensive collection was astounding. He was a family man, having made many wonderful memories with his wife, children, grandchildren and his siblings. His family will lovingly remember him for the wonderful, hardworking and caring man that he was.
In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include his children, Annmarie Cantin of Winchendon, Cynthia Rios and her husband, Luis of Lowell, Michelle Cunha and her husband, Nick of Nashua, NH; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Tabitha, Alex, Kasandra, Ariana, Savannah and Alicia; two great grandchildren, Annaleigh and Elana; his siblings, a twin brother, Donald Nicolls and his wife, Karen of Pelham, NH, Stephen Nicolls and his wife, Orea of Litchfield, NH, Susan Gaudette and her husband, Jim of Plymouth, Katie Mercier and her husband, Michael of Rindge, NH; and a brother-in-law, Arthur Basdanes of Lowell. He was the grandfather of the late Kaylee Cuhna.
