God led Roland to his Eternal Home on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at the age of 94. He was the son of the late Antoine and Estelle (Masson) Santerre. Roland was born in Lowell on December 6, 1927. He and his siblings were raised at the Franco American Orphanage after the loss of their mom.
Roland served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a machine operator for many years at Beauty Box in Nashua, NH.
Roland was a longtime member of the Centralville Social Club in Lowell.
In his free time he enjoyed fishing, playing cards, watching sports and going to the racetrack.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Irene McAvoy (1/2017), Cecile Desrochers (6/2020) and Rita Santerre (7/2020).
Uncle Roland, we were so blessed to have you in our lives and you leave us with so many great memories.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Roland's Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Wednesday from 12:15 until 1:15PM followed by his Funeral Service at 2:00pm at St. Joseph Cemetery Chapel in Chelmsford. Following prayers at the cemetery, Roland's Life Celebration will continue at the Princeton Station, 147 Princeton St., N. Chelmsford.
