Roland T. Kenny Grady

Dracut- Roland Thomas "Kenny" Grady, 84, husband of Catherine A. "Kitty" (Jalkewicz) Grady, died Wednesday, November 10 at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Hospital in Bedford after an extended illness.
Born in Lowell on July 10, 1920, he was a son of the late Thomas and Emma (Piche) Grady. He received his education in Lowell Schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School. While living in Dracut, he was a communicant of St Francis Church.
Mr. Grady served in the US Navy from 1942 to 1945 on the USS Bunker Hill aircraft carrier in the Pacific Theatre. He was wounded and received a medical discharge and also received a Presidential Citation.
Prior to his retirement in 1987, he worked at the Harvard Brewery until its closing. He then worked as an Industrial Engineer at Hanscom Field for 28 years where he received two superior performance awards.
He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and also held membership in the Lowell VFW Post 662 and the AARP.
Surviving him beside his wife of 63 years are a son and his wife, Thomas and Joanne Grady of Simpsonville, SC; two granddaughters, Caitlin and Meredith Grady; a sister, Alice Lindstram of Rhode Island; also several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Irene Barbeau, Eddie, Lionel and Arthur Grady.
Mr. Grady loved to travel, especially throughout Europe and he loved to dance and remodel his home.
