Dracut – Roland J. Gariepy, a Dracut resident, husband of the late Juanita (Gill) Gariepy, died unexpectedly on Friday August 17, 2012, at the Lowell General Hospital. He was 79.
Roland was born in Dracut on November 19, 1932, a son of the late Antonio and Gertrude (LeBrun) Gariepy.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the US Air Force.
Roland was the owner and operator of the former Waterwheel Restaurant in Dracut. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include two daughters and sons in law, Mary and Brian Allegresso of Dracut, Ann Marie and Ronald Stephen of Pelham, NH; two stepdaughters, Susan and Bruce Coffey of Sarasota, FL, Lynn Turgeon of Dracut; two stepsons and their wives, Thomas and Michelle Ballos of Hyde Park, NY, Michael and Kathleen Ballos of Townsend; two brothers and sisters in law, Normand and Doris Gariepy of Tyngsboro, Robert and Ann Gariepy of Wells, ME; eighteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and his beloved companion Priscilla Niles of Chelmsford. He was also the brother of the late Pauline Gregoire.
