Roland J. Doucette

Lowell - Roland J. Doucette, Sr., 76, widower of Eileen A. (Golden) Doucette, a South Lowell resident, died Saturday October 7, 2006 at the Lowell General Hospital.
He was born in Lowell on May 9, 1930, a son of the late Frank and Mabel (Charette) Doucette.
Mr. Doucette was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, with a BS in Criminal Justice. He also served in the US Air Force for 21 years retiring with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Following his retirement he was employed as a corrections officer at MCI Concord for 25 years.
A communicant of Holy Family Parish in Lowell, he was also a member of the East End Club and the American Legion - Nabnasset Post 437.
Mr. Doucette enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by five children and their spouses, Margaret M. and Edward Barter of Lowell, Roland J. Jr. and Gina Doucette of Lowell, Deborah A. and Arthur Conley of Dracut, Joann D. and Randall Snead of Lowell, Eileen A. and Sam Panagiotopoulos of Lowell; nine grandchildren, Edward M. Barter, Colleen E. Barter, Thomas A. Conley, Shaun P. Conley, Shannon M. Conley, Merissa L. Snead, Bobby Panagiotopoulos, Alexis Panagiotopoulos, Sammy Panagiotopoulos; three sisters and a brother in law Theresa and Emile Arpin of Lowell, Lillian Doucette of Lowell, Anita Gavin of Naples, FL; three brothers and sisters in law, Armand and Jeannette Doucette of Tyngsboro, Maurice and Millie Doucette of Las Vegas, NV, Albert and Dolores Doucette of Dracut; sisters in law and brothers in law, Mary R. and Charles Beck of Dracut, Bernard and Maureen Golden of Pelham, NH, Raymond Poitras of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Henry Doucette, Yvonne Letendresse, Leo Doucette, Alice LeClair, Gerard Doucette, and Jeannette Murphy.
