Roger E. Plourde

Roger E. Plourde, 74, a resident of Dracut, died surrounded by his family at Lowell General Hospital on Saturday, May 6, 2023.

He was born in Lowell, MA on September 15, 1948 and was a son of the late Rolande (Boucher) and Alfred Plourde.

Roger loved his dogs and playing horseshoes. He simply enjoyed being outside, whether it was doing yard work or walking, especially around his neighborhood, where he would talk to everyone he ran into. He spent many years working for Machado & Sons landscaping and paving.

Roger is survived and will be deeply missed by his two step children, Nate and his wife Krysta of Chelmsford and Nick and his fiancé Katie of Chicago; his children, Laurie Appleby and her husband Nathan of Maine and Raja Spanos of Florida; his two grandchildren; his brother, Robert Plourde of Dracut; his sister, Rose Hildreth and her husband Charlie of Lowell; his sister-in-law, Judith Plourde of Dracut; his nephew, Paul Plourde Jr. and his wife Doris; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his siblings, Ray, Dolly, Terry, Dot, Rolande, Doris, Ronnie, Debbie, Paul and Freddy.

Relatives and friends are invited to Roger’s Life Celebration on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 4 until 6 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell.
